Grand Tour of the North Day 9 (blog 1) Stirling old jail

Yet another busy day I've been to jail & it was grim. It's a guided tour & takes 45 minutes,  visiting the oldest cells on the ground floor & the Governor's office . A actor plays different characters that worked in the prison & of course a prisoner.
Renowned for being the worst prison in Britain & was used up to 1935. The was used by the military.
Opened in 1847 & designed by Thomas Brown
