Grand Tour of the North Day 24 Glasgow Botanical Gardens

Having got out a bit later today I decided to visit the Botanical Gardens from Kelvingrove Park there's a nice walk along the river & only 20 minutes. It quite a pleasant walk the path take you under Kelvinbr &  Belmont St bridge this road Bridge is very high above you as you walk under.
Following the river path you the come to Flint mill bridge which you cross. Here are the remain of a Flint mill continuing along the footpath /cycle path  ðŸš´ just a head is Queen Margaret Drive bridge passing under through a archway & then after a short distance I crossed back over the river via a nice cast iron bridge simply called humpback bridge. Then to get into the botanical gardens there's a
Steps to climb about 40 (I meant to count)
When you reach the top you are in the  beautiful gardens. The Botanical Gardens date back to the late 1830's  The glasshouses were constructed in 1872 they were brought in by barge from Coulport, Loch Long.  The kibble Palace glasshouse is where tree ferns & killer plants are located.
The gardens extends to 19.5 hectares & supports a diverse plant collection tropical & subtropical species grown under glass. There's herb garden, the world rose garden & lawn area there's a children's play area &  children's garden area.
The old Curator's has been converted into tea rooms. (2012)
There's a disused railway running under the gardens & as you look down you can still see the platforms. Station closed in the 1930's
This is a truly a splendid botanical gardens a joy for everyone
